Lounging in Lombok - again...
Woke up to waves on the sand, and opened our window to this view.
Woke up to waves on the sand, and opened our window to this view.
We were leaving Singapore at 3.45pm so we had some time in the morning to explore. And we decided to walk to a nearby place for Kaya toast.
Today we had a lot planned - Univeral Studios and The Tippling Club for dinner.
It is so hot and humid in Hong Kong that we have gone through all our clothes so it was off to drop our clothes off at the laundry first thing this morning.
Today we headed to Sheung Wan first thing for breakfast and coffee at Cupping Room. Ben was happy that he found somewhere that does good coffee.
We awoke to a lovely warm morning and headed to breakfast to check out the buffet offering.
We skipped breakfast (oh no) as I slept in quite late, and we had a lot of things to do today. Museum, Jesus, Aquarium, Tapas crawl.
Today was the day for a small day trip to Segovia, about an hour from Madrid. And also Dad’s 60th Birthday - Happy Birthday Dad!
We decided to go for another churro hunt, and found this place called Chocolat not far from our hotel. It was delicious - we got a pot of melted chocolate, freshly squeezed orange juice and churros. The churros weren’t fresh ( as in the last 10 mins) but were still tasty. As was the chocolate and orange juice.
So today was our last day in Sevilla. Churro hunting was the name of the game.
Boy was it hot today.
This was our first full day in Sevilla and we had a reservation at a place called Aponiente, which is about 1.5 hours to the south, on the southern coast of Spain. If you wanted to, you could catch a boat over to Morocco. But we had places to be, plankton to eat.
This was about a 7ish hour drive so we left around 9am and headed across. For some reason this area has lots of sunflowers - sunflower fields and solar panel fields. It is very strange.
Last time in Barcelona we found a cool churros place that makes churros for you, and then a few doors down you can get a hot chocolate to dip them in. So that was the mission of the day.
We had planned on going to Venice by train, but figured out it would cost around 120E and take 1.5hrs on the train, and driving would only take 2 hrs and not much in tolls. So driving it was.
We thought that we might take a day trip to Pisa, and check out the leaning tower. Touristy - yes, hilarious - yes.
Our first day in Bologna started with breakfast at the hotel, which ranged from cakes to boiled eggs and everything in between.
We decided that today we would accomplish two things - have the best apfel strudel in Munchen and go see Neuschwanstein Castle, which the Disney castle is based on.
We started off our first full day in Munich by going around the corner for a quick bite.
Had a really nice sleep and woke up at a reasonable hour, 8.30am. We had a few things to do/visit/eat today - waffles, pomme frittes, chocolates, leffe blonde and Manneken Pis.
