Mandurah doppelgangers - again...
We started off our first full day in Munich by going around the corner for a quick bite.
We then headed into the main area and around the Marianplatz. We were a bit early for the Glockenspiel so had a wander until 11am, when it went off. Lots of bells, lots of turning figures high up, lots of people.
Had a quick squiz round the market, got some rasberries, then headed back to the hotel.
Found out there was a laundromat only a block away so did a few loads of washing. There was a lovely German lady who helped us out, but she didn’t sprechen sie English and we didn’t sprechen sie Deutsch. But we managed to make our way through the fairly complicated world or German laundromats (we have used Spanish and French ones before, but they weren’t like this one). Suprisingly our washing and drying (including jeans) was all done in an hour and for about 15 Euro.
Time to decide what was for dinner. After much deliberation, it was back to the same place as the night before. It was so close, and so tasty. We did wonder if we would bump into our Mandurah friends again, but really, what are the odds of that happening.
We went there and had different food. I had the tastiest 1/2 duck, the skin was so crunchy and melted in your mouth. The picture really doesn’t do it justice. Ben went for some concoction of sausage, pork knuckle and duck, and we shared these awesome potato pancakes with apple sauce. Delicious.
On the way out, guess who we bumped into? The Mandurah doppelgangers (they are on holiday for 6 weeks, so are we, she likes sparkles, so do I, they’ve stayed at the same place in Phuket as we have, etc, etc). They obviously had the same idea we had - however we just waved them on and headed home.
Tomorrow - Disney castle!
