Just another day in paradise...

Today we were doing a diving refresh at the hotel, so headed down to breakfast to get our fill for the day. After being shown to our table and drinks orders taken we explored the breakfast area including the upstairs area we had missed earlier. It had a noodle station and icecream station and a waffle/pancake/crepe station.

I decided on a chocolate crepe with maple syrup, and by the time it was made and I headed back our table had been stolen and they were drinking our drinks! Sacre-bleu - invaders! Instead we were given another table and managed to go back for seconds without it being accosted.

By then it was time for our diving refresh with Farid from Scuba Froggy, which is located at the hotel. Farid was Frenchish, tanned, tattooed and proceeded to give us a skills refresh over the next 1.5hrs. Then time for a dip in the pool to go over some more practical skills. Mask clearing, sharing octopuses, taking a spin through tour the pool. While we were doing some practical tasks some swimmers came over and tried to go on top of us because of all the bubbles we were making they thought we were the spa. By this time it was about 1pm and time to wrap it up and grab some lunch.

We decided to try out the food at the resort, with Ben having the Nasi Goreng (with free chicken on a BBQ included) and I had Satay chicken and beef. Both of these meals were satisfactory.

The rest of the arvo was swapping between our room (air con), the balcony and the pool lounges.

We then went on a dinner adventure even further down the beach (40m from the hotel) to de Quake.

We were taken to a lovely upstairs table for two, overlooking the ocean.

We decided to share Rendang Daging and Ayam Tallwang (traditional Lombok marinated chicken). We had some complimentary bruschetta to start and then the main event.

Bruschetta

The rendang was awesome (sorry Eugene). Fragrant, delicious spice balanced with some steamed veggies and rice. The chicken was also very tasty with a smoky flavor.

Rendang - oh so tasty Chicken with a cone of rice

But the ultimate winner was dessert - Balinese black rice pudding. It came with coconut milk and was so good I wish we hadn't shared!

I am glad we are coming back here in a week or so because we have found a few good places that we would enjoy going back to.
