Bas is a jerk, but our flight was great...

Got picked up by a lovely guy called Terry, as Emirates offer a free pickup for Business class passengers. He was on time and got us to the airport quickly.

The Emirates lounge at Perth was nice, but deserted when we first arrived. Within 30 mins it became pretty packed.

There was a wide variety of food, including a tasty curry, chicken and mushroom pie, and an assortment of other tasty foods, as well as some nice champagne.

Champas!

It wasn’t long before our flight was called and we headed towards the plane. While lining up in the tunnel to get on the plane, Basil Zempilas was given the golden treatment and he and his wife and young baby got to skip the cue. Fair enough, if you are traveling first class as I assumed they were.

Once we made our way to our seats we got comfortable with some champagne and settled in. As this was a 777-300 it had almost lie flat seats, tilted at an angle. They blankets were also pretty warm.

Toasty!

As we left at 10.30pm they were only offering a light meal and I had poached crayfish and avocado, salad, tagliatelle and a lemon curd tart with rasberry coulis. The crayfish was delicious but I wasn’t that keen on the pasta, but realistically it was still pretty tasty.

Pasta Serts

After dinner I put the chair down, got given a mattress to make it more comfortable and had a good 5 hours sleep. Woke up to have a light breakfast of fruit salad, banana bread and yoghurt.

I have to say, the seats were awesome. Here are a few pics of the controls. I did enjoy the massage option as well.

Vibrations Controls

I think almost the coolest thing was the window shades. They were automatic and they also had a little consatina covering so you didn’t see the normal window coverings.

Open Closed!

And the stars in the ceiling were pretty cool also. Points for sparkles.

Sparkles!

Throughout the flight Bas was going back and forwards from First to Economy and it took us a while to figure out why. While he travelled up in First, his wife and baby were in Economy - what a JERK!

By this time we were almost in Dubai, so it was time to turn the cameras on to see the landing. Overall, great flight and a good sleep. We had a really nice stewardess who was very friendly and made it an even better experience.
