Lounging, leg room and power outages...
We were checking out of the Sheraton Senggigi today, so I spoiled myself with 2 crepes for breakfast - both were delicious.
We then headed down to the pool and settled in on some lounges.
As I missed out on my massage the day before I left Ben and headed off down the road. When I arrived Orchid Massage was closed and so were a lot of other shops - I guess Lombok doesn't open that early.
Back at the hotel we chilled out by the pool for a while, then I headed back to try my luck at the massage place. This time it was open, and I enjoyed my $6 massage very much.
By this time it was 12, so we had a few Frozens by the pool and eventually headed up to our room to pack and have some lunch.
We decided to play it safe and have a Reuben sandwich and a Mini Burger and chips, which we were pretty good.
After checking out we headed to the airport, albeit a little early. We arrived about 3hrs before our Silkair flight to Singapore was due to depart, but it worked out well in the end as we asked for, and were given, Exit row seats.
We hadn't realised about the 300,000Rp departure tax, so I guarded our bags while Ben went to the ATM and took some money out. Once the formalities were completed we made our way to the Sheraton Lounge, and spent the next 1.5hrs on the couch.
As Immigration and security screening are at the gate, we headed to our departure gate 1hr prior to takeoff. After getting stamped in Immigration and then going through the X-ray and security area and choosing a seat near our gate - all the power in the airport went off. We were in complete darkness-except for the 100 mobile devices that were on. The lights started coming on for basic services such as the Exit signs, but the overhead lights stayed off, even when the flight started boarding. Most nights at the resort the power would go off a few times around 10/11pm for a few mins before kicking back in, but by the time we had made our way onto the plane the main lights still weren't on yet.
The Silkair exit row seats had amazing legroom - I could straighten my legs and not touch the row in front.
Silkair is supposed to be Singapore Air's regional service/low cost carrier but the service was pretty good. Very quick and efficient, even got a blanket and pillow and we both went for Nasi Lemak - prawns with coconut rice and on the other side - fishy bits. Needless to say, we both ended up avoiding the fishy bits.
After watching the final episode of Pride and Prejudice (thought of you Annick) I watched a bit of Sherlock but the flight was almost over.
We arrived in Singapore and made our way to the Transfer desk, but they asked us to come back the next day at 4.30am, so we headed to the Transit hotel.
Changi was a very nice and peaceful airport - at least at 11pm - and there was a lot of different shops open and things to do, like look at huge fish.
The Transit hotel at T2 had a great shower, and we crashed at about 11am - making sure to set our alarms for nice and early the next morning.
