Diverxo - but no photos...

Today we had lunch at a cool Asian/Spanish fusion place called Diverxo. However they don’t allow photos, so you can’t see the cool food we ate. It used a lot of XO sauce and had a lot of familiar tastes that remind us of dim sum and chinese cooking.

Here goes...

  1. Muscles - this was a dish of mussels, creamy potato, with crispy crumbs on the top. You mixed this all together and it was tasty.
  2. Crying duck - this was a fish dish with crispy duck tongues on top - poor duckos, but they were tasty in their crispiness.
  3. Exploding egg/Smoking trout - this was a smoked trout, with two little pasty parcels with gooey egg inside. I loved the exploding eggs. Very delicious.
  4. Chicken dim sums - these were good
  5. Mushroom buns - this was like a pork steamed bun, but with mushroom inside, and covered in what looked like milk skin (you know when you heat milk up in the microwave and it gets that skin). It also came with a long piece of marbled jamon.
  6. Prawn hats - this was two flat prawns with foamy mayonaisse and a secret salad which was pretty good.
  7. Zig zag pork - this was presented on a metal zig zag and was pork crackling, roe, black sesame seed black foamy bread.
  8. Big Mac - this came served in the old yellow styrofoam containers of the 90’s that McDonald’s used to serve their burgers in. Inside was a lettuce leaf and a beef pattie which you rolled up and dipped in sauce. Very familiar in taste.
  9. Purple flag - this was white asparagus, with purple potato flags
  10. Deconstructed Xiao Long Bao - this was like and upside down, not done up XLB with oxtail, foam and corn
  11. Rasberry rollup - this was a small piece of rasberry rollyup like substance with a few pieces of juice rasberry bits
  12. Fake olives - this was a dessert - looked like olives, but were actually chocolate balls with white chocolate liquid inside, a celery foam ( a bit weird) and white chocolate spun sugar - very tasty
  13. Purple people eater - this was a lilac based dessert, with squishy purple bits and foam - pretty tasty.

After this extravaganza of food, we headed back to the hotel to crash for a while. We went for a walk later and found Haagen Daaz and had an icecream, but we had had enough to eat for the day.
