Rest day...

We decided that we would just hang out in Bologna today, as we had been doing a bit of driving and gallivanting around and we just needed some time to relax and rest our sore feet.

So we had a nice sleep in, went for lunch at a small place called Trattoria Dal Biassanot in Bologna. Was actually pretty good. Had some lambrusco (cold sparkling red wine) and salumi platter to share, and an asparagus and ham pasta, and a ragu pasta. It was pretty cheap and quite tasty.

What else to follow up on this but gelato - this time - Inferno!

For dinner we went next door (after going to the hotel, going for a walk, then heading back), to Trattoria Serghei. On the walk we found this canal - apparently Venice and Bologna used to be connected to each other - that is crazy!

Canal - in Bologna?!

Had also heard this was good. This place was tiny - there was only about 5-6 tables and that was it - but we had fun.

Our pastas were tortellini in brodo and tortolloni with sage and spinach, and then we shared a carpaccio of veal and zucchini with meatballs in a tomato-y sauce.

We also stopped on the way home for gelato - all in all a nice relaxing day!

PS. Congrats Sarah!!
